Mission Statement
To promote the health, safety and welfare of the public and the
environment through effective and efficient regulations, education, and
enforcement.
Division Profile
The Division of Environmental and Regulatory Services (ERS) maintains
the regulatory responsibility and authority for underground and
aboveground flammable or combustible liquid storage tank systems,
petroleum product quality assurance, administrative authority for low
and medium risk petroleum contaminated sites, and the Petroleum
Environmental Cleanup Fund Award (PECFA). Division staff
consist of hydrogeologists, claims auditors, tanks system specialists
and inspectors, permit processors and support personnel. The Division
operational, regulatory and administrative programs are performed
within three bureaus.
