hold final action hearings on 2009 code Federal
legislation called the "Community
Building Code
Administration Grant Act"
has been approved by the House of Representatives and is to be
considered by the Senate. The act would create a grant program through
the U.S. Department
of Housing and Urban Development to jurisdictions which seek to
strengthen their local building and

second annual meeting of the Wisconsin Building Safety Network (WBSN)
Wednesday, September 24, 2008, at the Country Springs Hotel

Commerce formed the WBSN to help communities coordinate their community development, economic development, building regulation and fire department efforts. The hope is for cooperative and streamlined processes resulting in building projects completed faster, safer and at less cost. S&B and UW - Madison staff planned the fall meting with an advisory group of representatives from the League of Wisconsin Municipalities, Wisconsin Towns Association, Wisconsin Fire Inspectors Association, and the Wisconsin Counties Association.
