Changes to Comm 34,
Amusement Rides Code, were adopted at the end of September, 2008, and
will be effective January 1, 2009.
Scope statement issued for Comm 34 code
development project related to: Minimum standards for the design,
construction, operation and maintenance of zip lines to reflect current
industry safety practices.
Changes to Comm 2, Fee Code, and Comm 5, Licenses, Registrations, and
Certifications Code,
were adopted by the Department of Commerce and
will be effective December 1, 2008. The changes will increase
service fees in the S&B Amusement Ride program for the first
time since 2000. |
Program
Description: The Safety and Buildings
Division establishes and enforces
standards to protect the design, construction, and operation of
amusement rides and attractions. The division reviews plans for new
installations of non-portable amusement rides and provides
consultations and inspections to ensure safe operations.
Staff also inspect ski lifts and tows.
