Grant Helps Construct Federally Qualified Dental Clinic in Chippewa Falls

Governor Jim Doyle recently announced that the City of Chippewa Falls/Chippewa County will receive a $500,000 Community Development Block Grant-Economic Development (CDBG-ED) grant to help the Chippewa County Dental Foundation (CCDF) construct a federally qualified dental clinic in the Lake Wissota Business Park in Chippewa Falls. Department of Commerce Secretary Mary P. Burke made the announcement in Chippewa Falls at the site of the new clinic on the Governor's behalf.

"One of my goals is to improve access and quality in our healthcare system," says Governor Doyle. "I am delighted that we are able to assist the Chippewa Falls area with the construction of a new dental clinic. It is a great example of a successful public/private partnership to help provide a healthcare necessity to thousands of Wisconsin residents."

The clinic will help provide for the dental needs of the poor, underprivileged, handicapped, and patients with special needs and will serve Chippewa County as well as Clark, Dunn, Eau Claire, and Taylor Counties.
