Moser and Myers Speak at Conference

The State of Wisconsin and the Department of Commerce were represented at the 18th Annual National Tanks Conference and Expo in Memphis, TN March 20-22 when the Federal Environmental Protection Agency asked Commerce employees James Moser and Woody Myers from the Environmental Regulatory Services (ERS) Division, PECFA Bureau, to present information for the conference for all of the trades involved with underground storage tanks, from design to use. The conference was attended by over 500 people from all over the country.

James has been instrumental in the current overhaul of the Administrative Code Comm 47. He presented portions of this work regarding keeping petroleum contaminated sites progressing toward closure. The EPA was very pleased with his presentation which was attended by over 100 professionals, including consultants, state and federal officials.

Woody was part of a three-member panel discussion titled "Measuring Program Performance." He cited findings from the recently completed EPA grant report "Categorization of Petroleum Storage Tank Sites". The discussion was well-received and generated many questions on the results, as well as a great deal of post-seminar discussion. Woody has already been contacted by surrounding states who want to duplicate the work conducted here in Wisconsin.
