Fond du Lac Petroleum Office / Lab Closing

The Petroleum Inspection Office/Lab at 400 West Arndt Street, Fond du Lac will be closed as of December 31, 2005.  This office/lab has been in operation for over twenty-five years and has housed the office of Marv Thiel, the Environmental & Regulatory Services petroleum inspector for Calumet, Dodge, Fond du Lac and Sheboygan counties. Marv will continue to be responsible for these counties after the lab closure.  However, after December 11 he will be operating out of the Green Bay office/lab at 2331 San Luis Place, Green Bay, WI 54304.   At that time Marv can be contacted at (920) 929-3970.

Recent streamlining initiatives have led the Department of Commerce to reduce the number of Petroleum Inspection Labs it operates throughout the state from fourteen to eleven.   In December 2003 the lab in Spooner was closed with its staff and sites now being covered out of the Superior office/lab, and in June, 2004 the Rhinelander office/lab was closed and consolidated into the Green Lab office/lab.
