New JETRO Advisor

Wisconsin firms interested in doing business in Japan have a new business advisor, Mr. Takahiro "Taka" Hagisako. As the JETRO Business Advisor for the State of Wisconsin with an office co-located with the Wisconsin Department of Commerce, Mr. Hagisako will assist Wisconsin firms that are interested in doing business with Japan by explaining cultural/business practice differences and introducing Wisconsin exporters to potential partners and service providers.

Mr. Hagisako assumed his duties in February and is adapting well to working in Wisconsin. He was born and raised in a rural portion of Japan's southern island, Kyūshū, but spent the last few years in New York City as a sales and marketing manager for a Japanese firm. Previously he worked for Proctor & Gamble Japan as a project manager and process engineer.

Mr. Hagisako replaces Shinichiro "Sam" Noda who served as a JETRO Senior Trade Advisor for five years in Wisconsin and returned to Tokyo in November 2004.

The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) is a governmental organization under Japan's Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI). Its primary mission is to strengthen trade and industry with developed countries and expand international exchange in order to achieve balanced international trade and a more global economy. JETRO is headquartered in Tokyo and maintains branch offices around the world, including seven in the United States.

Mr. Hagisako can be contacted by e-mail at thagisako@commerce.state.wi.us or by phone at (608) 266-9487.
