Bureau of Housing Sponsors Case Management Workshops

Case management is widely used to help people who are in homeless situations achieve greater stability in their lives. The Bureau of Housing is sponsoring a series of two-day workshops this summer that will give participants a chance to acquire skills and knowledge in case management, and will demonstrate the way the Case Management feature in ServicePoint can be used in planning and service delivery.

Jim Winship, Ph D, Associate Professor of Social Work at UW-Whitewater and author of the recently published workbook Moving Forward: Homeless Case Management Using ServicePoint, will provide the training. Participants attending both days of the workshop will earn 1.2 CEUs. Class size is limited, so early registration is recommended.

Dates and locations for the workshops are:

June 3-4 - Green Bay (UW-Green Bay)
June 15-16 - Madison (WHEDA/Commerce building)
June 29-30 - Milwaukee (Milwaukee YWCA)
July 20-21 - Wausau/Mosinee (DWD Training Center)
July 22-23 - Eau Claire (UW-Eau Claire)

For more information or to register for a workshop, go to http://commercetraining.wi.gov/ and select "Online Registration" from the column on the left, and then "WISP" or call Tanya Wagner at (608) 267-2933 or Barbro McGinn at (608) 261-7713.
