IMPORTANT: As of July 1st, 2011, functions once performed by the Wisconsin Department of Commerce have been moved to other state agencies and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation. The former Commerce web site will continue to exist for the next several months as resources are moved to new web site locations. We will make every attempt possible to direct our users to the new locations as web resources are moved.

Trade Shows and Events

Trade Shows are a great way to market your firm and identify potential partners and competitors. At catalog shows, our staff will meet with local business people, ascertain how well they match your needs, distribute your product literature, and return with qualified leads for your follow-up. At direct participation shows, where your sales staff meet directly with potential customers, we will handle administrative issues such as acquiring the booth and obtaining translators. Outreach consultants and area specialists are available before and after a show to help maximize your results.
Our List of Events

The Wisconsin Department of Commerce Trade Show Grant Program provides financial assistance to small- and medium-sized manufacturers seeking to expand their export sales by exhibiting at international trade shows. Under the program, Wisconsin companies with less than $25million in annual sales can be reimbursed up to $5,000 for specific expenses for participating in an approved trade show or matchmaker trade delegation event. Click here for more information on the Trade Show Grant Program.

On Trade Missions, the Department of Commerce arranges appointments for participants with qualified business contacts and senior government officials. Travel with government officials who can open doors to influential decision makers, gives new-to-market firms valuable first-hand market research and a running start when approaching the market.

To learn what past mission members think of the value of participating in a trade mission, check out an article from the June 2005 issue of Business Watch.
