News and Announcements

What's New from Business Development?

Press Releases and Announcements:

Governor Doyle announces $2 million to reduce fuel costs and pollution.

New Rules:

There are a number of new rules from the US EPA that may affect many small businesses in Wisconsin.  The Small Business Clean Air Assistance Program is monitoring these rules for potential impact.  When appropriate the program will develop fact sheets summarizing the rule, send out letters indicating where to submit notification forms, and post all relevant materials on their Air Toxics web page.   Currently there are materials available for rules affecting autobody refinishing shops, anyone painting plastic or metal parts, and gasoline distribution/bulk plants.

Please go to the Air Toxics web page for more details.

Periodic Publications:

The Small Business Ombudsman publishes a monthly Regulatory Alert. Sign up for an email subscription or review past editions.

The Small Business Clean Air Assistance publishes a quarterly Advisor Newsletter.

Archived Presentations:

Business Development's Tom Coogan and Amy Young Cumblad participated in two Financing Renewable Energy in Wisconsin workshops in April, 2008.  The two of them presented an overview of Commerce's Wisconsin Energy Independence Fund.
