S&B Boiler and Pressure Vessel Program

NEWS

Comm 41, Boilers and Pressure Vessels Code, and Comm 45, Mechanical Refrigeration Code, changes were adopted by the Wisconsin Department of Commerce on September 12, 2008, and were effective December 1, 2008.

RVGP-PC automatic gas vent dampers from Effikal recalled due to carbon monoxide hazard (CPSC)

PB Heat gas boilers recalled September 11, 2008, due to carbon monoxide hazard (CPSC)

Updated SBD-6314 Boiler and Unfired Pressure Vessel Registration, adding several notes

Program Description: Safety requirements are enforced by Safety and Buildings Division staff for power boilers, heating boilers, pressure vessels, and nuclear power plant components. Shop and field consultation and inspections are provided. Boiler repairers are registered and boiler inspectors are certified.

National Board Boiler Inspector examination information
- Exams are conducted on the first Wednesday and following Thursday in March, June, September and December each year. Location is the State Office Building, 141 NW Barstow St, 4th Floor, Waukesha, Wisconsin. The examination fee is $250.
