Mark your calendars for the September 30, 2009, Wisconsin Building Safety Network annual meeting. Code Changes // All code change projects - A public hearing will be held July 28, 2009, on proposed changes to Comm 2, Fee Code, and Comm 5, Licenses, Certifications and Registrations Code, relating to continuing education course submittals and credential application fees. See hearing notice, PDF file, and draft code language, PDF file. - A proposed rule to repeal Comm 18.1702 (8) relating to elevator suspension ropes and their connections was adopted May 29, 2009. The rule is expected to become effective July 1, 2009, and will replace an emergency rule currently in effect. Transmittal documents, PDF file; final proposed rule, PDF file; and emergency rule, PDF file. - Proposed rules change relating to Building Contractor Registration were sent to the legislature for review May 18, 2009. See Comm 5, contractor registration code project documents. - Changes to Comm 5, Licenses, Certifications and Registrations, and Comm 40, Gas Systems, relating to rules for licensing liquefied gas suppliers became effective June 1, 2009. Adoption transmittal document, PDF file, and Code adoption draft, PDF file. - Proposed rules changes to Comm 60-66, Commercial Building Code, and Comm 20-25, Uniform Dwelling Code, related to carbon monoxide alarms were adopted April 13, 2009. The permanent rules werer effective June 1, 2009. - Commerce Secretary Dick Leinenkugel requested a 60-day extension of the Comm 2, Fee Code, emergency rule reducing fees to pre-December 1, 2008, levels for public swimming pool plan review of post-construction modification. The extension was grantd by the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules, and will expire July 13, 2009. See rule documents.
