For Immediate Release: April 3, 2009
Contact: Tony Hozeny, Department of Commerce, 608-267-9661

MADISON - Department of Commerce (Commerce) Secretary Richard J. Leinenkugel today announced that Monte Ewing, Terry Fameree, Tom Garvey, and Ray Weber, members of the Wisconsin Safety and Buildings Electrical Engineering Consultants team, have received the Wayne G. Russell Award from the American Society of the Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE).

This award recognizes an individual or organization that has demonstrated exceptional commitment to helping the Wisconsin agriculture industry adopt new electric technology, farmstead mechanization and farm equipment.

"This team of engineering consultants has demonstrated excellence and commitment to improving Wisconsin's agriculture industry," Leinenkugel said. "At Commerce, we are proud to recognize this great achievement."

The award will be given out at the ASABE dinner meeting on April 1, 2009 in conjunction with the Wisconsin Public Service Farm Show.

The award is named in honor of the late Wayne G. Russell, former Rural Promotion Manager for Wisconsin Power & Light and originator of the Electric Power and Equipment Farm Show first held in the 1950s.
