Governor Doyle Announces Design Specialties, Inc. Expansion

MADISON - Governor Jim Doyle today announced that Design Specialties, Inc.in Milwaukee will receive $81,000 in Community Development Zone tax credits for an expansion project.

"Despite these difficult economic times it's important we continue to invest in growing companies like Design Specialties," Governor Doyle said. "Design Specialties is a leader in developing energy efficiency products that will provide good jobs for hardworking Wisconsin families."

Design Specialties, Inc. was founded in 1983 as a manufacturer of high quality fireplace enclosures. The company will use the funds to expand its production facility in Milwaukee to accommodate a new powder coat line. The project is expected to create 15 jobs and retain 27 positions.
