Make Mine a Million RaceIn
2006 the Make Mine a Million event provided eight Wisconsin women-owned
business with the opportunity to reach the $1 million in revenue mark.
This year the founders of the Make Mine a Million provides
another opportunity for WI women-owned businesses to ramp up your
business, create jobs and promote economic stability by entering the
Make Mine a Million Race. The M3 Race officially starts on
January 27, 2009 but early registration is open now.
Here's how it works:
- Step 1 - Sign up for the M3 Race at http://www.makemineamillion.org/race.
- Step 2 - Set a goal by declaring your 2009 revenue target. You set the pace and M3 Race levels are as follows:
- Walker (projected 2009 revenue target of $250,000)
- Jogger (projected 2009 revenue target of $500,000)
- Runner (projected 2009 revenue target of $1 million)
- Step 3 - Use the registration checklist to prepare yourself and build your business stamina for the race.
- Step 4 - Get a race buddy or create your own racing team by enrolling other women entrepreneurs to race with you.
As a registered walker, jogger or runner you will receive:
- Cutting-edge on-line business assessment with expert advice and education
- Personalized "dashboard" to track your goals and annual revenue
- Social network to find other M3 Race participants and post questions
- Invitatations to three national educational and networking events
- Opportunities to reach new national markets with partners like American Express, Readers Digest and Sam's Club
- Promotion through local and national TV, newspapers, magazines, radio and blogs
Prizes
and national recognition for crossing your personal finish line, as
well as chance to win the Grand prize of $100,000 cash for your
business with national public relations, advertising and press for your
business. The Make Mine a Million program is provided by the Count Me In for Womens Economic
Independence and is the MM3 Race is another initiative created by Count
Me In to inspire one million women entrepreneurs to reach annual
revenue of 1 million by the year 2010.
Federal Contracting Events
The Business Procurement Assistance Center (BPAC)
provides technical and marketing assistance to Wisconsin businesses
interested in selling their products and services to the federal
government. Entry-level seminars provides a solid orientation to the
federal contracting environment for those women-owned businesses
interested in expanding their markets into the federal arena.
The Wisconsin Procurement Institute (WPI)
provides guidance, training and hands-on assistance to firms in
developing government business and improving process and technical
capabilities to access and compete in the Government marketplace.
