Young Wisconsin Entrepreneur Award

The Department of Commerce and the Department of Public Instruction are collaborating to offer recognition for entrepreneurial high school students with the Young Wisconsin Entrepreneur Award. Teachers have an amazing connection with their students. Of the unique strengths and talents each student has, some develop as entrepreneurs. Some examples include high school students who have created or invented useful products or services, currently sell a needed product or service, or have opened their own store front.

Teachers are encouraged to tell us about their Young Entrepreneur. The student selected will be asked to answer questions from other Wisconsin high school students in a one-hour live webcast that will be held during National Entrepreneurship Week.

On February 7, 2008, Commerce Secretary Jack L. Fischer, AIA, announced the winners of the 2008 Young Wisconsin Enterpreneur Award. Read the press release for all the details.

Also and learn how you (and your students) can submit questions to be answered by this year's winners during a live one-hour webcast on February 27.
